SEMI-Live!

I will not be reviewing any of the shows that I post on this website because I've never been good at analyzing beyond a simple "I like it" or "it's not my thing". All I ever really ask of music is that it brings something to the table. I'll leave the critiquing and dissection to others that are better at it than I.

Thanks always to the bands/artists for the great music and for allowing me to do this.

The Elbow Room, Ypsilanti, MI

This past Wednesday at The Elbow Room started out with the first-ever performance of Bone Orchard Revival, featuring Adam Arscott, Jeni Lee Richey and Jeffrey Guevin. You may recognize Adam from recently-disbanded (and 2007 Current Magazine reader’s poll winners for “best rock group”) The MoodieVeto. Jeni Lee Richie also performs as half of the acoustic duo Lula Found. Jeff Guevin is a classically-trained bass player who over the years has performed with many different groups in just about every musical genre. He is a busy, busy man.

Following Bone Orchard Revival was Timothy Monger, taking a (partially) solo trip from his usual home in the Great Lakes Myth Society. Convivial as usual, Timothy played a mixed set of his solo material, covers and GLMS tunes and was joined for much of the set by Scott DeRoche of Showdown At The Equator on bass.
